Avatar 2009

Avatar In 2154, humanity has consumed all the earth’s resources, leading to a severe energy shortage. The Resources Development Administration (RDA) is the company that mines unobtanium. is the one responsible for the depletion of the Earth’s natural resources.

Scientists make use of Na’vi-human hybrids known as “avatars” to study the biosphere of Pandora. They are genetically matched human beings. Jake Sully, who is a paraplegic former Marine who replaces his dead identical twin brother in the role of the operator of one. Dr. Grace Augustine, head of the Avatar Program, considers Sully an inadequate replacement but accepts his job as a bodyguard. While escorting the avatars of Grace and fellow scientist Dr. Jake’s avatar gets attacked and flies into the forest by the Pandoran wildlife. He is rescued by Neytiri, a Na’vi female. After observing an auspicious sign that she is a sign of good luck, she brings him to her clan. Neytiri’s mother Mo’at, the spiritual leader of the clan, has her daughter begged her to integrate Jake into the clan’s society.

Colonel Miles Quaritch is the head of the RDA’s private security forces and promises Jake that the company will get his legs back when they discover information about the Na’vi and the clan’s gathering spot the giant tree known as Hometree [38] that looms over the biggest unobtanium mine in the region. Grace finds out about this and assigns Jake, Norm, and themselves to an post. Over the following three months Jake and Neytiri fall in love, as Jake begins to feel more connected to the natives. When Jake is initiated into the tribe and is accepted into the tribe, he and Neytiri choose each other as mates. After a while, Jake reveals his change of allegiance after he tries to disable a bulldozer that threatens to destroy the sacred site of the Na’vi. Selfridge demands Hometree to be destroyed when Quaritch shows a video of Jake’s attack on the bulldozer [3939 and another one in which Jake declares that Na’vi people will never leave Hometree.

Grace claims that Hometree’s destruction could result in damage to the biological neural system native to Pandora. Selfridge gives Jake one hour to convince Na’vi to leave before they begin the attack. Jake acknowledges to Na’vi that he is a spy, and they capture him as well as Grace hostage. Quaritch’s men kill Hometree Neytiri’s father and Hometree, the clan’s chief, and numerous others. Mo’at frees Jake and Grace, but they’re separated from their avatars and imprisoned by Quaritch’s troops. Pilot Trudy Chacon is horrified by Quaritch’s brutality and frees Jake, Grace and Norm. Then she airlifts them to Grace’s post. Grace is however shot by Quaritch when she escapes.

To regain the Na’vi’s trust, Jake connects his mind to the mind of Toruk, an animal predator who is revered and honored by the Na’vi. Jake meets the refugees in the holy Tree of Souls and pleads with Mo’at to cure Grace. The clan attempts to transfer Grace from her human body into her avatar with the help of the Tree of Souls, but she passes away before the process is completed. Supported by the new chief Tsu’tey, Jake joins the clan and tells them to gather the clans in order to fight the RDA. Quaritch arranges a preemptive strike against the Tree of Souls, believing that its destruction will discredit the natives. The day before battle, Jake prays to Eywa through an emotional connection to the Tree of Souls, to pray on behalf of the Na’vi.

The Na’vi are heavily wounded during the fight. But, they are rescued by Pandoran animals who join in the assault against the human race. This is Neytiri’s interpretation of Jake’s prayer. Jake is able to destroy the bomber prior to the Tree of Souls can reach it. Quaritch escapes from the aircraft, which was damaged by the attack and finds the avatar link device that held Jake’s body. He exposes it to Pandora’s poisonous atmospheric. Quaritch is about to cut Jake’s throat, but Neytiri defeats Quaritch by using two arrows. Jake then sees his human form for the first time and escapes from the wreckage of his aircraft.

With the exceptions of Jake, Norm, and a select few others the majority of humans are banished from Pandora and sent back to Earth. Jake has been permanently transformed to his new avatar through the Tree of Souls.
